Verdict

Darkened won this last year and Clonbury Bridge in 2021. The former, who ran another twice during Festival week, is back on the same mark so shouldn't be dismissed while the latter scored over fences during the winter. Big Island also has a course and distance victory to his credit and bounced back to form at Tipperary while Whatsafellatodo won a novices' hurdle here way back in 2018 and returned after a year off to score over fences at Ballinrobe in May. Largy Gift has changed stables since landing a Uttoxeter maiden by 19 lengths while Bukhill was having only his second start over timber when landing a Sligo maiden. BOOM BOOM BOOM ran well in a better race at Limerick and is on a low enough mark to be handed the vote in a tricky handicap even though Wrecking Ball Paul won a Kilbeggan handicap in good style. Wexford maiden winner Starman and Neveradullmoment are others to consider.
