Verdict

A tough finale and many will pin their faith on Dermot Weld with some justification as Abstract gives the impression of being prepared with this in mind after finally showing some ability at Roscommon last time and now has the benefit of blinkers for the first time and Colin Keane is aboard. He was beaten by Social Distance at Roscommon but should at the very least get closer now at the revised weights. Both are noted but have been done no favours by the draw. The latter's stablemate Siofra remains unexposed but the far more experienced CRASSUS appeals more. His excellent apprentice takes his burden under 10-0 and his latest run when runner-up in the Ladies Derby appeals as the standout piece of recent form.
