Last year's winner was the first favourite to score in 10 years. Jeremys Joy was clearly suited by the conditions when coming home an easy winner on heavy ground at Ballinrobe so some rain would aid his cause. Plain Talking was conceding 17lb to Easy Boy when beaten just over two lengths at Bellewstown but reversed that form when they finished close up at Killarney next time and should have the advantage at these weights. However, DEA DIA (NAP) finished in front of the pair of them in that latter event on what was his handicap debut and he can make the necessary progress to land this. Aidan O'Brien is really going for this with three entries with Sea of Blue possibly the pick as she found 7f too short at Dundalk when strongly supported.
