Top Notch Tonto has twice performed with credit in a Group 2 at Leopardstown and is well up to winning this at his best and if the ground were to come up soft he'd take some beating. Brian Ellison also runs Baraweez, who was narrowly beaten in this last year before scoring over 7f a few days later, and the Australian recruit Stipulate, who was well beaten on his debut for the yard in April but was Listed class in his native country. It's a long time since a three-year-old won this but General Macarthur has the right credentials having performed with credit in strong company including behind the useful Endless Drama at Naas last week. Ger Lyons trains that winner and his Sea Wolf made an impressive start for the yard at the Curragh though he's been hit with an 11lb rise. Dermot Weld runs Ashraf, who was nowhere near his best at Leopardstown after scoring at Gowran, and KARALARA. The latter was having only her second start and her first for almost a year when an impressive maiden winner at Navan and the assessor may have let her in lightly on a mark of 92.
