In depth

Verdict

Jaime Sommers was gaining only her second victory in 21 starts over hurdles when landing a Kilbeggan handicap earlier this month but had been in good form previously and has her rider's claim to help. Denham Sound had been in reasonable form before finding heavy ground against her at last week's Listowel festival so she wouldn't want more rain. CONTINGENCY had shown some potential on the Flat in the UK before joining Willie Mullins who sent her to Tramore last month for a successful start to her hurdling career. She's facing much more experienced opposition here but looks the type to go on to better things. The Birdie Crowe landed a maiden at Limerick and though that was on good ground she's won a bumper on soft so conditions won't be a problem. High Nellie gained her first success on her 21st start over timber at Wexford earlier in the month though that was on good ground.
