In depth

Verdict

Stumptown did well in his first season over fences, winning at Thurles and Sandown and finishing second in the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir at Cheltenham in March. But he hasn’t run since pulled up in the Irish Grand National in April and he’ll likely find this an insufficient test of stamina. Peregrine Run has been a grand servant but may be feeling his age a little now and there are question marks hanging over Andy Dufresne and Born By The Sea at present. SAINT SAM jumped well when landing a Grade 3 at Killarney in May and, despite a penalty, can complete the hat-trick.
