With the ground a possible excuse for defeat last time we'll give DEADLINE another chance to get on top in preference to Potemkin while Particle looks overpriced based on his best form. Looking back through the selection's previous runs his best seems to come on either good or quick ground so it is feasible that the softer conditions when a gallant third last time might have stopped him following up an easy success. He was also under a penalty that day and given he has his preferred ground here he can run a big race. Potemkin handles this track well having run well in defeat twice here in the past and his near miss in a conditional's event last time was encouraging enough though his mark might now be a little high after a three pound rise. Particle should be able to run into the prize money under this burden and has no problems on the stamina front while Senor Shane is bang in the picture too if he can complete this time. This is probably the most competitive race on the card and Deadline might just be the live choice.
