LORD THEO can take the opener, while Simonside is among a number who can be considered dangers. It is good to see Nick Littmoden in such good form and although there are stamina doubts over this trip, Lord Theo has won both of his recent Newmarket contests with authority and is worth another try over this distance. The long downhill run for home will certainly help him, and a 6lb penalty looks unlikely to prevent him from completing a hat-trick on ground he enjoys. Simonside will certainly get this trip, having already scored over it at Wolverhampton. Brian Ellison's gelding is 5lbs higher than when winning at Carlisle last time and won't be far away. Medieval Maiden is 3lbs out of the handicap but is at least in very good form. She stays well but has not yet won on turf and so we can take her on tonight. Dramatic Solo stays further than this and escapes a penalty for landing an apprentice handicap last time, so if her pilot can make this a real test then she could have them all on the stretch. Epsom Salts likes it here and may well have a say in the outcome, but preference is for Lord Theo.
