Mayeul, Halcon Genelardais and Megapac are three against the field in this opener and the vote is given to Mayeul. The selection is proven on this ground and he looked a winner waiting to happen when a good second behind Baron Monty at Haydock last time. The step up in trip will also not be a problem and with AP McCoy booked to do the steering he should take plenty of beating. Megapec made a pleasing debut but was then a little disappointing last time and as he has no form on this softer surface he is probably best watched, even though he remains unexposed. Halcon Genelardais ran well at Leicester last time when second behind Lord Brock. He finished in front of Dusky Warbler in that race who has since gone onto frank the form so he has to be respected. Lord of the Road is the Paul Nicholl's representative here and the market should be best watched for a guide to his chances, and for the winner we return to Mayeul.
