In depth

Verdict

THE DAWN MAN was having his first outing for Michael Scudamore’s yard when opening his account over fences with a victory at Wetherby. He’s 7lb higher today but has more scope over the larger obstacles than today’s opposition and looks worth sticking with. On The Road gets a change of headgear looking to end a losing run that goes back to 2017. He’s gone close the last twice now while Native Robin was placed yet again when third at Doncaster last time and is back on a winning mark.
