Verdict

Former point-to-pointers Field Roller and Lady Misprint are interesting on their first start over hurdles but preference is for Golden Bay, who has shown decent form over timber and it will take a useful one to beat her. Field Roller makes his rules debut for top connections and the four-year-old is sure to know what is required but makes limited appeal at the forecast odds on his rules debut. Lady Misprint, a multiple winning pointer, obviously warrants respect but may do better once put over fences and a safer bet may be Golden Bay. Jonathan Geake's mare showed useful form in bumpers and has carried that over to hurdles, latterly when third behind The Bar Maid at Towcester last month and she may be too good for her rivals. The booking of Tony McCoy for Oliver Sherwood's Celestial Heights takes the eye and he has to be respected, along with Victor Dartnall's Vingis Park, who has had two runs this term and should strip fitter for the latest of them. Nightwatchman was a shade disappointing on his debut and Nicky Henderson's gelding is surely better than he showed at Kempton. Henrietta Knight's horses are in better form now so Great Benefit is another to consider but the vote goes to Golden Bay who is taken to open her account over hurdles.
