Verdict
Not an easy race to sum up, but Flinders is given the vote over Wild Spice and The Sawdust Kid. Wild Spice looked progressive when last seen 452 days and, if fit, could go well as he has won from today's mark. Flinders has been raised 15 pounds for winning twice in his last three starts, including over course and distance. Kittenkat is not as good as she once was although a return to the level of form that she was showing 12 months ago would certainly give her a chance. The same can be said of Over Zealous, who won from a 13-pounds higher mark a year ago and has shown the odd piece of form since. Sunday Habits won from a five-pounds lower mark at Plumpton two runs ago, but has not yet won from a mark this high. The Sawdust Kid won over course and distance two years ago from a nine-pounds higher mark and is 11 pounds better off with Sunday Habits for the 13 lengths he finished behind him at Plumpton in the race just referred to. Just Anvil was in the process of running a good race when falling at Ludlow last time and, lightly raced, could be open to improvement, while Brave Spirit has the odd bit of form that will give him supporters. Once again, though, overall the vote goes to Flinders.
