Verdict

Corrie Lake and Strike The Flint carry penalties for wins here and at Plumpton respectively but neither of the mares can be left out of the reckoning. The latter beat Baddesley on her second start but Chris Gordon’s charge was making his racecourse debut and should get closer today. Oscarsman is a stablemate of Strike The Flint while a case can also be made for May’s Huntingdon third Shantou Vow and winning pointer Exod'ela. WINTER GETAWAY has won twice between the flags in Ireland. He has a cracking pedigree for jumping but his dam had the speed to place twice in bumpers and he could be a bargain buy at £18,000.
