Plenty of these have chances in a moderate but competitive contest with the vote going to Trigger Guard, who gets the vote over Choumakeur and Captain Smoothy. The last mentioned disappointed at Huntingdon last time but has claims on the pick of his earlier form and has to be respected in a contest where there are plenty of negatives about most of the runners. Just Paddy and Tobougg Welcome are less exposed than most after just three career starts over hurdles but both need to improve on all known form over timber on their handicap debuts. Spider Boy again ran well at Plumpton last time and has to be respected but he has yet to win a race and may again have to settle for minor honours. David Pipe's Choumakeur is less exposed than most after just five starts and looks to be going the right way so has to be considered but preference is for Trigger Guard. Gary Moore's gelding was good value for his win here last month and he is taken to defy the 7lb penalty for that success.
