A poor event in which few can boast solid recent form but Adalie is a notable exception and gets the vote. The Philip Hobbs-trained mare has put up two creditable efforts in defeat of late and showed she has a race of this nature within her compass when a close third in a Chepstow handicap in January. The daughter of Absalom held every chance at the final flight but tired on the heavy ground and had to settle for minor honours. She will be suited by these less testing conditions and will prove hard to beat off the same mark. Blue Streak landed a similar event for today's rider at Plumpton in November but looks held in the handicapper's grip judged on his latest start. Course and distance winner Kildare Chiller is well treated on the pick of his form and shouldn't be underestimated particularly after an encouraging effort last time. Elvis has had his training difficulties in recent years but still looks best of the remainder and can reach the frame.
