Verdict

Notre Ami looks best of those with experience, noted staying on quite nicely on his Wincanton debut in a manner indicating this extra yardage will suit. He does face some interesting newcomers though from yards highly adept in this particular sphere. Alaskan Poet should have no problems with the trip being by Ascot Gold Cup hero Yeats, who has already sired a high-class bumper performer in Augusta Kate. The market should signpost his chance but Nicky Henderson has his string in rollicking form with five winners from his last seven runners and TURN TURK, a daughter of Robin Des Champs, sire of the likes of Vautour and Quevega, is just preferred. Also keep an eye on Snow Rescue on debut as Seamus Durack enjoys an excellent strike rate of 25 per cent in these contests over the past five years.
