SIGNELLA may be well enough treated to make a winning handicap bow although the likes of Bubses Boy, Benozzo Gozzoli and Peter Grimes may have more to offer. Peter Chapple-Hyam's filly was weak in the market ahead of both of her starts but kept on gamely to prevail in a typically tight Lingfield finish on the second of them. The form of that race hasn't worked out too badly with the fifth home, Dubai Storming, going on to compete successfully in handicap company from marks in the seventies. Bubses Boy hinted at ability last season and starts his career at the right end of the weights whilst Benozzo Gozzoli's brother scored twice at four so there may be more to come from him; that comment also applies to Lake Kalamalka and Peter Grimes although neither cut much ice in nurseries at the back end of the season. A market check is advisable but Signella's the suggestion.
