Not many can be seriously fancied in an ordinary event and Full Spate looks the answer. Milton Bradley's charge is a thoroughly genuine performer who proved a real money spinner for connections last season with four wins. The gelded son of Unfuwain has also shown winning form on this track and will appreciate the drying ground so looks worth chancing on his seasonal return. Contrary Mary is well suited by the conditions and is on a fair mark so could go well if fit for her return while Blushing Spur has been fairly consistent on the all-weather this winter, albeit at a lower level, and is another to consider. Golden Spectrum was well regarded at the start of last term and his stable has started the season brightly so is one to note but Zeitlos and Best Bond were below their best last time and may struggle from out of the handicap.
