Goodwood winner Addwaitya ran well when finding just Indy Driver too good at Epsom last month and he has to be respected but Chris Wall's gelding has gone up another 3lbs since that run and now has a career high mark to defy so a better bet may be MEFRAAS, who gets the vote over Silverglas. Marcus Tregoning's gelding has only had four starts and ran promisingly on his handicap debut at Goodwood last time so he has to be considered off just a 2lb higher mark than at Goodwood. Sir Mark Prescott's Farleigh House is capable and ran better on the Polytrack at Wolverhampton recently so he has claims but a 4lb rise since then looks harsh and of more interest may be Mark Johnston's lightly raced African Cheetah. Clive Brittain's Al Sabaheya has failed to trouble the judge in handicaps since making a winning debut in a Brighton maiden as a juvenile and a better bet looks to be Mefraas. Ed Dunlop's gelding remains a maiden after seven starts but he has shown a decent level of form in his last four outings, all in handicaps, and looks worth siding with to open his account today.
