WELSH INLET is nominally preferred to Cocohatchee in the hope that the draw bias remains and that Stuart Williams' filly can make the most of her lower berth. The closest that she has come to victory in five races was when she was able to grab the rail at Windsor; she was only caught close home that day and a similar performance could be good enough in a modest race. Cocohatchee boasts a higher official rating and is respected whilst the two furlong drop in trip shouldn't bother him although it does have to be a slight concern. Cristaliyev showed ability at Sandown on debut and normal improvement from that run should ensure that he's a threat to all.
