In depth

Verdict

A tough finale for backers to try and solve with plenty of unexposed horses in opposition. Five of them make their racecourse debut with Paul Webber's Tallenoe, a daughter of Rudimentary out of a Bustino mare, making most appeal but this is likely to go to one of those with racing experience. Of them Doli Cygnus has the benefit of having raced twice previously but needs to improve on the form she showed at Hereford behind Miller's Bay on her most recent start. Classic China found only Generals Laststand too good on her debut at Fontwell on Boxing Day and should be thereabouts but that was a poor contest and a place may be the best she can achieve again. Simon Earle's Silent Appeal filled the same position behind Ask Me What in a similar contest over course and distance on her first start last month and is another worthy of a mention but our selection has to be Countess Camilla. Although only fourth beaten over 18 lengths at Wetherby first time, that was a much better race than this and Kim Bailey's mare may be better class to her rivals.
