Witchry can defy topweight at the expense of Parkside Pursuit, Drumming Party and Millfields Dreams. Witchry has just the one career victory to his credit, at Pontefract two years ago, and since then has struggled, but he has been slipping down the weights, and races off an attractive mark here. Tony Newcombe's four-year-old has been showing signs of an imminent revival of late, and a repeat of his latest showing at Bath could well be enough here, especially with the fast ground in his favour as well. The veteran Parkside Pursuit goes well at this time of the year, and he should have a say. His last outing at Bath can be forgotten as he got into all kinds of trouble in running, and he should be coming late on the scene here to challenge. Drumming Party is a most consistent sort whose stable is enjoying a good run at present, while Millfields Dreams will appreciate the return to faster ground and has a good chance based on his defeat of subsequent scorer Montillia here in June. Plenty in with chances then, but Witchry gets the vote.
