The ex-German runner Vinces was heavily bandaged when he made a winning debut in this country when taking a Lingfield maiden on a fast surface last month and he may be worth taking a chance with on this more suitable ground on his handicap debut, getting the verdict ahead of Mick Is Back and Nightspot. The last mentioned ran better at Bath last time and he looks the obvious danger racing off the same mark today. Geoff Wragg's Princess Lavinia was well held on her reappearance at Leicester in April and needs to improve on that effort to trouble the judge, while Scripted is less exposed than most of these after just five starts but has yet to show any worthwhile form on turf. Silent Applause gave little sign for encouragement on his return and of more interest may be George Margarson's Mick Is Back, who is better than he showed at Goodwood last week. The ground today should suit Vinces though and he is taken to make a winning debut in a handicap.
