In depth

Verdict

In time Jair Du Cochet is likely to appreciate a slightly stiffer test than he will encounter here, however this top-class hurdler made an impressive debut over fences in France earlier this summer and is likely to make a winning debut over the British equivalent here. The TEAMtalk selection is likely to be sent off at very short odds but it is difficult to find any obvious dangers. Roxby Explorer is an obvious candidate for a place on his chase debut as he had reasonable form in bumpers and hurdles but has plenty to find with the favourite first time over fences. Orient Express has a fitness advantage but needs plenty of improvement if he is to figure here while the lightly-raced Captain Zinzan is a more obvious place bet as he ran well on his chase debut, had decent form over hurdles but on the negative side has not run for 542 days.
