In depth

Verdict

Julies Boy gained an overdue first victory last time out and can follow up here today at the expense of Meggie's Lad and Sweet Minuet. Tom George's gelding was given an enterprising ride by Willie McCarthy last time, taking the fight to some better rivals and running them into the ground off a low-weight. With similar tactics employed today he will prove very hard to catch. Meggie's Lad is from a yard in great form and although only modest, does have strong place claims on the best of his form. Sweet Minuet has had plenty of training problems and as a consequence is relatively lightly raced. She has performed with credit this season and unlike most of these should be capable of improvement. Get The Point can also be given a squeak on the best of last season's form, but Julies Boy can at least boast a recent victory and can land this weak contest
