In depth

Verdict

Gary Moore has his string in good order at present so Wiesenfurst has to be respected but he is only rated 75 and has plenty to find on official BHA ratings with most of his rivals and a better bet looks to be FIFTYONEFIFTYONE, who looks the one to beat with the main danger rated as Fassaroe. Oliver Sherwood's gelding has the highest rating of those to have earned one in this maiden chase and the 116-rated eight-year-old has to be respected having run creditably on his chasing debut at Fontwell last month. Commanche Dream and Dolly Grey are relatively lightly raced and open to improvement but need to improve to get involved at the business end of the race and of more interest may be Traffic Control. Tom George's gelding, a point-to-point winner, has yet to show the same level of form over hurdles but he may do better now switched to the larger obstacles, although he was well held on his chasing debut at Newbury in a better race than this last month. Master Darcy is capable but has run below expectations in both starts this term and preference is for Fiftyonefiftyone. Nicky Henderson's gelding showed decent form in his first two starts over hurdles before being well beaten behind Mr Gardner in a decent race at Newbury in March. There were some other useful types ahead of him that day as well and, in this grade, he looks worth siding with.
