Stevedore may prove the answer to the second division of the maiden auction while Danish Monarch and Rowan Pursuit look best of the remainder to have raced previously and Exterior is an interesting newcomer. Brian Meehan's colt made no show on his initial start but showed significant improvement next time when narrowly denied in an above average Kempton maiden two weeks ago. The Docksider colt made a bold bid to make all and displayed a likeable attitude as he battled strongly all the way to the line, only to be denied in a tight finish. The extra furlong should suit ideally and he sets the standard in a race that shouldn't take much winning. John Dunlop has his Arundel team in good order at present and Danish Monarch has shown plenty of ability in two minor events to date. A reproduction of his effort when a staying-on runner-up behind a useful yardstick at Salisbury would see him go close at this level, particularly with the step up in trip likely to bring further improvement. Rowan Pursuit ran no sort of race last time but has claims on a promising fourth at Nottingham previously and shouldn't be discounted in a weak event while Amanda Perrett introduces Exterior, a well-bred son of Distant View, who wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary to score at the first time of asking and the market will provide further clues.
