In depth

Verdict

Calculated Risk has found a bit of form in sellers around here lately but this is a big step up for Debra Hamer's charge, who may not be the most consistent. Driftashore has won both previous races over course and distance and it was a surprise that he was allowed to start at 25/1 11 days ago. He has a 7lb penalty but can't be ignored while Pilgrims Bay only found one too good when favourite at Market Rasen earlier this month. Wabanaki needs more, however, and ARCTIC GOLD is more interesting. Nigel Twiston-Davies has several fancied runners today and his five-year-old, eased in grade, won’t be far away if reproducing the form he showed in completing a hat-trick earlier in the season.
