      Verdict

      MEN DON'T CRY won a similar race over the track and trip last July though he'll be a massive 22lb higher here with his penalty for last week's Brighton victory. He likes quick ground so further rain may halt his progress though he's given the vote over Chepstow winner Lady Percy, who battled on gamely in the soft ground and would be the choice in similar conditions. Petrify has only been placed once in eleven starts but has dropped to such a lowly mark that he can be given some sort of chance in a moderate contest while Kelpie Blitz, who has been running poorly over hurdles and on Polytrack, was racing in much better class a year ago from a 14lb higher mark and any market move should be noted.
