In depth

Verdict

KATESON probably hasn't lived up to expectations over the past year or so but has been pretty highly tried and this might prove a better opportunity to regain the winning habit. Still lightly-raced over fences, he could well still develop into a useful performer over larger obstacles. He holds Present Value on Exeter running in December and it could be that Jammy George is his likeliest threat after a really commendable effort at Newbury last time in a limited novices' handicap when beaten under a length by Court Master. Jammin Masters has plenty of chasing experience but disappointed on his comeback run and the Greatrex yard remains quieter than usual. Mr Clarkson and Theligny are not totally ruled out either in an open affair.
