    In depth

    Verdict

Tom O'Brien is coming in for some strong rides for the Hobbs team in the enforced absence of champion jockey, Richard Johnson, and has a strong chance here courtesy of PILEON (NAP). The Yeats gelding was only beaten 4l by Festival-bound Chantry House at Cheltenham before scoring comfortably at Catterick this month. He sets the form standard. Republican is improving steadily with his racing and was a game winner the last day at Taunton and rates the obvious danger. Jac Brown hasn't been running too badly this term since his course win last May and the market should guide as to expectations regarding the lightly-raced Evan Williams duo.
