        Verdict

        Abadie, a 290,000gns half-brother to four winners including the speedy Stepper Point, was too green to do himself justice at Ripon in May but has had wind surgery and been gelded since. Mira Star was an eye-catcher at Newmarket and an almost certain improver but Vulcan may do better when switched to handicaps. Black Comedy is a debutant worth a second look but it will probably take an above-average performance to prevent IT’S GOOD TO LAUGH from going one better than at Sandown, where he finished ahead of a couple of well-regarded types.
