In depth

Verdict

This looks a decent bumper for the track with several powerful yards represented. Nicky Henderson’s Mr Woody can only improve on his second at Warwick and Financier looked in need of the run when third at Chepstow. Not A Nail was favourite when placed at Exeter in December and Farrants Way was also third at Uttoxeter, though will struggle to overturn that form with impressive winner King Roland. Calum Gilhooley and STICK WITH BILL also made winning starts with Harry Whittington’s charge making all here just before Christmas. This is a much more competitive affair but the Oscar gelding should have plenty more to offer. Anax and Shakem Up'arry are newcomers to consider.
