Richard Johnson rides Ninth Wave so it’s safe to assume that the impressive points winner is Philip Hobbs’ stable selection. Khanisari is having a first run for a new yard but ran well when second at Down Royal in May. Elton Des Mottes showed plenty of promise at Market Rasen in April, despite running green, but ENCORE CHAMPS was only beaten half-a-length at the same track a month later and the winner won well over hurdles at Uttoxeter earlier this week. Thomas Macdonagh is likely to need further but is one to note with a view to the future. Banana Joe and Anniversary Gift are newcomers worth a market check.
