chased winner, shaken up to challenge before last where not fluent, held flat
chased leaders, raced keenly, pecked 1st, reached at next, not fluent 5th, ridden before 4 out, soon lost touch, dropped to 4th latter stages
jumped well, made all, shaken up before after 3 out, ridden and edged right before last, stayed on well flat
held up in last, not jump well, well beaten after 9th, blundered badly 3 out, went remote 3rd latter stages
Monsieur Lecoq's form figures flatter him as he had little to beat at Leicester and was 23 lengths behind the winner in a three-runner race at Ascot. Gingembre Menthe has been racing over hurdles at Auteuil and is an interesting recruit for Nick Williams but MILL GREEN's overall form gives him the edge. The winner of a Class 2 handicap hurdle at Sandown last year, he'll need to jump much better than he did on his chasing debut at Newbury but will have been given plenty of schooling. Mr One More has a similar rating over hurdles and made a very promising chasing bow at Chepstow in November but was then well beaten at Kempton and jumped poorly before falling at Sandown.
