Verdict

DARK LANE has been running a little better than recent form figures suggest. He's a pound lower than when successful over the trip at Chepstow in May so gets the nod here ahead of Bath winner Arch Walker, who needs fast ground but has the beating of Spic 'n Span on the form book. Wooden King was beaten twice off this mark last month while Madame Kintyre is out of sorts, though blew the start here last time. Veteran Brandywell Boy is preferred to the returning Green Millionaire of the others.
