ACT OF KALANISI is the marginal preference to Dance The Star and Petrovsky. A switch to more traditional Mark Johnston tactics seemed to make all the difference and while this is a drop back to twelve furlongs, with weight for age taken into account he looks a fair prospect. Dance The Star appeared to be given too much to do at Kempton in an apprentices handicap. Whether he is quite as able on the turf is another matter. Petrovsky almost scrambled home over this trip at Newmarket. He had won three races back to back during the winter on the all weather surfaces. William Hogarth is yet to capture the heights he reached at the Ballydoyle academy. Sehoy has become frustrating. He could have few excuses made for him last time out at Salisbury having had his favoured going and it is with some reluctance that we oppose. Jabal Tariq has won twice at Ripon though his consistency makes it difficult for the handicapper to grant him respite. Many plausible winners but Act Of Kalanisi looks open to most improvement amongst them.
