Verdict

American History was only beaten half-a-length in a handicap at Doncaster last month while Waterville Dancer was runner-up over 1m6f at Salisbury last time but the handicapper rates both inferior to Steaming. That one was very disappointing at Windsor when odds-on, however, and may be best watched for now. Catcher On The Go won over hurdles here in June but that was over 2m4f and the seven-year-old stays much further. Zeelander is a likely improver over this trip but so is WINE LIST (NAP). The latter is a half-brother to the useful Elbereth and he caught the eye on debut at Newbury last year, despite missing the break.
