In depth

Verdict

SERTAO attracted plenty of support on his debut here last month and his backers were counting their winnings when he loomed up going easily but he failed to match the courage of the more experienced Sharlene's Quest and had to settle for the runner's-up spot. He can go one better with that under his belt while Bathwick Brave, another who was well backed on his debut at Taunton, looked in need of the experience and will have come on. Street Dance made a reasonable start at Sedgefield but had little chance in a Grade 2 at Newbury subsequently. The newcomer Toreador is related to several decent winning jumpers and is one to keep an eye on as is Canopy Of Stars, whose dam was a useful jumper.
