    Verdict

This is a weak affair but both BODY GOLD and Border Lad arrive in winning form, albeit in equally moderate company. The former has taken a long time to find his feet after arriving here from Argentina where he was a winner on the Flat. He definitely improved when scoring on soft ground at Taunton a week ago and the 7lb penalty may not prevent a quick follow up. Jewellery showed her first sign of form over timber when fifth in that latter race and was staying on at the finish. She's still a youngster and may improve enough to close the gap though it's her stablemate Border Lad, who ploughed through the Hereford mud to beat a poor field last Monday, who should provide the biggest threat. It's difficult to raise enthusiasm for the remainder who are either badly out of form or have shown no ability over timber.
