Brother Joe was a class act over timber and there are signs that he could well be just as good over the larger obstacles, although he still has plenty to learn in his fencing technique. However, none of these should be good enough to get him off the bridle and he is taken to win at his leisure. The main danger should be chasing debutante Our Armageddon, who was rated some two stone inferior to the selection over timber. Richard Guest's charge is a half-brother to winning two-mile chaser Black Bullet and has the size to make up into a decent performer over the larger obstacles, but this is a stiff task for him and second spot looks the best he can hope for. Ferdy Murphy has his string more forward this year than usual and Chancers Dante is worthy of a mention. The winner of a two-and-a-half mile bumper in Ireland, he took a while to find his form over timber, but there were signs in the spring that he was getting his act together. However, he will surely find these too sharp for him around here. Golly has his fair share of ability, but he does also have his fair share of temperament and will surely find these too good. So providing Brother Joe puts in a clear round, he is taken to outclass his rivals.
