Verdict
Monbonami gets the confident vote in this competitive novices handicap chase with Mister Magpie and Maunby Roller the others to consider. The selection was a good second to Native Eire at Sedgefield last time, and with AP McCoy taking from Tom Siddall in the plate, he looks the one to beat. Mister Magpie hails from the Tom George yard, who are showing signs of a return to form, and he was a fair third behind Talbot Lad at Ludlow last time. He will need to improve to beat our selection but looks to have excellent place claims. Maunby Roller hails from the Kevin Morgan yard and has been performing well over hurdles of late, and he is sure to have been well schooled for this his chasing debut. He could go well at a decent price with useful claimer Paddy Brennan in the plate. Of the remainder, Royal China is from an in-form yard and cannot be discounted, but Monbonami looks to have solid credentials and is our confident choice.
