For the prize money on offer this doesn't appear to be a very strong contest and it looks a good opportunity for Meggies Lad to get his head in front, Jazz du Forez and Tipp Top look the main dangers. The Venetia Williams trained seven-year-old is no world beater but could have found an easy opening here. He was a decent enough hurdler and although well beaten in chase events so far, this represents a big drop in class and should go close at a decent price. Jazz du Forez walked over at Doncaster last time, but had previously put in some decent efforts including an excellent second to Leith Hill Star, another bold showing can be expected. Tipp Top has to shoulder top-weight but rarely runs a bad race and is another that should figure in the finish. Highpoint hasn't raced for some time but is from a yard in form so should be monitored closely in the betting, however Meggies Lad will not find many easier opportunities and is given the vote
