Verdict

Point-to-point winner Mooncoin Man has not shown the same level of form under rules and was tailed off when falling at the last at Taunton earlier this month so he looks best watched in a race taken to go to PENN DA BENN, who gets the vote with Overstrand looking the best of the remainder. The selection was easily the best of these over hurdles, winning off a mark of 125 before being well held at the Cheltenham Festival in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle off a mark 10lbs higher and he has shown promise in all three starts over fences, latterly when not disgraced on unsuitably testing ground at Fontwell last time. Kevin Morgan's Colophony ran promisingly on his chasing debut at Ludlow last month and he makes more appeal than Pam Sly's Pheidias, who has been well held in all three starts over fences. Feeling Peckish is hard to recommend and of more interest may be Richard Newland's Overstrand, who has run to a decent level of form in recent starts. Penn da Benn has an obvious chance in this company though and he is hard to oppose.
