Brendan Powell's Fort Severn has shown signs of ability in novice hurdles and may do better now switched to a handicap but he need to improve to get the better of SCREENSCRAPER, who gets the vote ahead of Vivarini. Caroline Bailey's gelding won back-to-back races here and at Huntingdon last month and has every chance on the form shown in those races but he was found wanting off his new mark at Market Rasen recently and he may now be in the grip of the handicapper so might have to settle for minor honours again. Chris Bealby's Ordelia has shown little in her last couple of starts and looks best watched, while Sarah Humphrey's Quartz Dore has been well held in all three starts over hurdles but is seemingly attractively weighted and he has to be considered. The vote then goes the way of Screenscraper, a point-to-point winner in Ireland, who has shown improvement for going over hurdles in winning well at Perth when last seen in July and he can follow up here off what seems a fair mark of 109.
