Verdict

A poor turnout for the money and Needwood Lion, who has been a little disappointing of late, should have an easy lead in this and could well take some pegging back around this sharp circuit. Last years winner Mister Bossman is the obvious danger. Richard Guest's charge has been in cracking form of late, but he is 10lbs higher than when taking this last year and that could well be enough to anchor him this time round. Poly Amansha, who went off favourite for this event back in 1999, has clearly been difficult to train, but he does retain his ability and should still be competitive off this mark, but Inaki looks to have plenty on off a 15lbs higher mark than when last successful.
