Although seven go to post this basically boils down to a match between Paco Venture and Proper Squire. The latter was the better of these pair over timber and while he should do well over fences, he faces a rival in Paco Venture, who always looked as though he would improve for tackling fences and the latter is taken to come out on top. He was given a break just after Christmas and is a fresh horse to be running at this time of year. He stays well, goes on fast ground and can make a name for himself at this game. Proper Squire progressed well though last season, rising 16lbs in the handicap. His form has appeared to level out since the turn of the year and it could be that he is need of his summer break.
