Falcarragh and Watered Silk are best watched at present although both undoubtedly have the talent to get involved if fully wound-up. Able Deputy is proving a source of frustration to Kim Bailey with regard to his propensity to always find one too good but the champion jockey is given another opportunity to put things right after that pair filled the runner-up spot at Carlisle last time behind Swaledale Lad. This is far from easy, though, with recent winner Woodbank heading the weights. He notched a first chasing success last time on his first run for Dan Skelton but does tend to take a chance at times with his obstacles and UT MAJEUR AULMES is preferred. The Dartnall inmate has taken well to fences and was the beneficiary of a typically cool ride from Denis O'Regan at Perth when scoring last time. He should improve again as this is only his third start over fences.
Woodbank 11-8 (11-0) Made all, ridden clear when not fluent last, unchallenged, won at Huntingdon 2m nov chs (4) gd in Apr beating Dark Lover (11-7) by 7l, 3 ran.
Ut Majeur Aulmes (FR) 5-4fav (11-8) In rear, headway before 3 out, ridden to lead run-in, just held on, driven out, won at Perth 2m nov hcp chs (0-125) (3) gd in Apr beating Roc D'apsis (11-6) by nk, 5 ran.
Able Deputy 11-4fav (11-8) Held up in rear, pushed along before 4 out, went 2nd before last, kept on well, not reach winner, 2nd of 6, 4l behind Swaledale Lad (11-5) at Carlisle 2m nov hcp chs (0-125) (3) sft in May.
Watered Silk 66-1 (10-10) Mid-division, outpaced 4 out, weakened next, tailed off, 17th of 20, well behind Thomas Crapper (11-3) at Cheltenham 2m 5f hcp hdl 0-140 (3) gd in Nov.
Falcarragh (IRE) 16-1 (11-0) Disputed 2nd behind (clear) winner, hit 5th, dropped to 3rd 8th, 2nd again before 4 out until ridden before 2 out, mistake 2 out, kept on same pace, weakened into 4th run-in, last of 4, 16l behind Hallings Comet (11-0) at Worcester 2m beg chase (4) gd in May.
