Verdict

This looks an above-average maiden hurdle for the time of year. Hawdyerwheesht is the latest recruit to the in-form Dr Richard Newland yard was a useful handicap performer for Jim Goldie on the Flat. He has a first run for 230 days but it would be folly to exclude him from calculations. Anjuna Beach, a recent scorer at Brighton, is another recruit of interest for the Gary Moore team while Song Light made a pleasing debut last month at Plumpton. Stephen Hero is likely to have needed it last time and was a triple scorer in Ireland for Andrew Oliver so is far from devoid of ability. BUSHEL, very lightly-raced in the last year, didn't go too badly on debut on New Year's Day at Musselburgh and John Ferguson has been in winning vein in the last couple of weeks - he can get the champion jockey off to a winning start here.
