Verdict

Acapella Bourgeois won this very easily last year when making all for which he's penalised. Last month's two runs in a Tramore Grade 3 and the Thyestes Chase will have put him spot on for another crack. Stable companion BURROWS SAINT was in brilliant form early in 2019, completing a hat-trick in the Irish National here. His last three runs have been over hurdles and entries in the Gold Cup and Grand National suggest he'll be ready for this. Anibale Fly is also heading for Aintree and, though unraced since a run over hurdles almost a year ago, Tony Martin will have him ready for another crack after two superb efforts behind Tiger Roll. He's also been placed in two Gold Cups and it wouldn't be a shock to see him back in the winner's enclosure. Tout Est Permis has been mixing it with the best for a very long time and is still only eight, though heavy conditions wouldn't be to his advantage. The Long Mile is a fine handicapper with four victories over fences to his credit though he's never raced over this far.
